Respected Parents & Dear Students,

With immense pleasure and gratitude, I take this opportunity to thank you for making Baba Farid Group of Institutions (BFGI) as the most preferred institution of the region. Your trust in us inspires us to consistently remain on the top by continuously raising our standards of education and improving the students learning outcomes. Our journey started way back in 1993 from a primary school to a Group of Institutions in 2005, has been absolutely great and fruitful. It is an honor for us to be associated with some of the greatest multinational companies – which includes Microsoft, Oracle, SAP, HP and many more. We are the only institute in the region to be associated with almost all the major industrial bodies of our nation like FICCI, CII, NSDC, ASSOCHAM, PHD Chamber of commerce, AIMA, NASSCOM etc. Since the inception of BFGI, we have been constantly striving hard to get Excellence and laurels in Academics, Sports & Extracurricular Activities. Every passing year has added a feather in our cap in shape of bagging Merit Positions secured by our students at Board / University level. Apart from Academics, they have been successful in winning the Overall University Championship Trophies in highly competitive Youth Festivals and Sports Events organized at Board / University levels. It would not be wrong to say that it is the prime responsibility of every Educational Institution to polish their students in Academics along with Extracurricular Activities. However, in the 21st Century, with the constant barrage of new advancements in the Technological sector, we as an Educational Institution have redefined ourselves by providing practical platforms to our students with an aim to promote Research & Development, Employability, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.

BFGI has been continuously organizing International Conferences, Global Summits and our flagship International event VIBGYOR every year that keeps us & our students connected to the whole world of opportunities. BFGI in collaboration with AIESEC is giving golden opportunity to students to gain valuable International Experience through international internship programs. The goal of these collaborations is to build sustainable, multi-dimensional relationships, partnerships that enhance the opportunities for students of BFGI to study, research & to be employable in any part of the World In this era of digital disruption, we are making every effort to equip our students with 21st century skills. We have launched the concept of Education 4.0 through which we envisage to shift the focus of teaching-learning from teacher centred to learner centred Learning - which used to happen only through lecture-based method in conventional system has now been replaced by number of modern techniques like Flipped Classroom approach, Learning Anytime Anywhere, Interactive Class Room Approach, MOOCS, E-Learning, M-Learning etc. The purpose of this paradigm shift is to make students real problem solvers and critical thinkers.

We at BFGI always believe in imparting core values of Technical Education and skills by focusing on bridging the gap between knowledge-based education to competency-based education. Considering this, we had started School of Skill Development in 2015, which has been a unique initiative taken by the institution to holistically connect the academia with Industry. Our aim is to train the students for not only being a graduate or a post graduate but being a skilled professional. Keeping in sync with the same, our School of Skill Development is associated with National Skill Development Council (NSDC), Government of India and the other prominent Sector Skill Councils. In the year of 2019, 12 students have reached the regional levels of India Skills and one student made it to the Nationals in the skill competitions organized jointly by CII & NSDC.

At BFGI, laboratory sessions are primarily designed to develop proficiency in technical skills, provide an opportunity to place theory in context, develop critical thinking skills and promote enquiry-based learning. So, looking at its significance, BFGI continuously enhances and up-grades its labs & workshops as per the latest industrial advancements. This year, BFGI is all set to overhaul all it’s labs & workshops these make state of the art for the Students, Faculty & Industry by equipping with the latest tools / instruments & technologies prevalent nowadays in the Industry. BFGI would be investing heavily to provide its students best in class facilities and faculty for research & innovation by revamping these labs in to “Live Labs”. Not only this, looking at the latest trends and technological advancements happening in this fourth generation of Industrial Revolution, we are all set to launch the Centres of Excellence in association with top most multinational companies like BOSCH, Siemens, Mitsubishi and many more under School of Skill Development which will not only make Engineering students skilled as per industry demands but would also introduce them to the world of work through internships, apprenticeships and finally a job offer in their dream company.

Looking at the present scenario of Punjab there is an ample scope of research & development in the agriculture & allied fields and to give the practical exposure to the students of this stream, this year BFGI allocates 50+ Acres of farm land to its students for performing Research based projects, Incubation projects, Crop Diversification, Live Organic Farming and other live projects provided by the Industry in this coming year. Through this unique effort, BFGI will take a lead in nurturing the skills of its students to aspire them to augment such entrepreneurial capabilities by giving them this Marketing platform in near future by setting up an Incubation Centre to evolve the start-up ecosystem in agriculture sector. Apart from all these initiatives, since 2009 Baba Farid Group of Institutions has been dedicating every year to a noble social cause to serve the society. Continuing this noble tradition, we have dedicated the year 2021 to “Community Connect Program”. Under this Program, weekly webinars are being organized with an aim to connect with Professionals and others with unique expertise able to add their voices and experiences to decision making processes. It endeavors to make a positive contribution to the society. A wide range of activities have also been planned in this project to encourage staff and students in volunteering, and supporting important social causes. For transforming our students into socially responsible citizens we have a dedicated Department of Social Welfare. Under this we are running various campaigns such as Tree plantation, health awareness amongst our students & the people of our region. We have also invited dignitaries like Sri Sri Ravi Shankar for conducting the Art of Living session at our campus and are working with Mr. Kulwant Singh Dhaliwal for running campaigns on Cancer Awareness.

Our ultimate aim is to transform Baba Farid Group of Institutions into a Hi-Tech University with the core motive of having industry friendly curriculum to mould the students in-to socially responsible citizens. So, with all this happening in the Institution, I can confidently assure you that we will not leave any stone unturned to ensure the success of our students. Our students are our biggest strength and have been the source for our growth & we will make every effort to create a successful career path for them. We are always open for new suggestions and feedback from the parent's so that we can keep working on the development areas based on feedback and keep our institutional eco-system as transparent as possible. We always welcome parent’s active interest & involvement in the progress and activities of our students.
