Baba Farid College, Bathinda successfully organized a three-day National Workshop on 'Recent Advances in Natural Radionuclides and Multifunctional Materials' (RANRAMM-2021) in association with Nuclear Track Society of India (NTSI) and Material Research Society of India (MRSI) which was sponsored by BRNS, Mumbai and MathTech Thinking Foundation, INDIA (MTTF). In this workshop undergraduates and Postgraduate Students, Research Scholars and Faculty members of different institutions like PU Chandigarh, GNDU Amritsar, Punjabi University Patiala, CUP Bathinda, S.D. College, Barnala, SAS. Hisar, HMV College, Jalandhar, OSG University, Hisar, etc. participated.
In the first session of the workshop, Chief Guest Prof. and Head of MRSPTU, Bathinda, Prof. (Dr.) Jasbir Singh Hundal delivered the keynote address on Polymers and Ceramics. Dr. Sameer Mondal, Scientist, CSIO, Chandigarh joined online as a guest speaker. In his speech, he explained in detail the applications of optical fiber and the various methods used in its manufacturing. On this day all the participants were also taken to visit Takht Sri Damdama Sahib at Talwandi Sabo.
The next day all the participants visited the Central University of Punjab, Bathinda where they were learned about the various major types of equipment like XRD, NMR, SEM, FTIR, XPS, UV spectrometer, Mass Spectrometer and many more which are used to know characterization of different materials.
On the last day of the workshop, Prof. (Dr.) B.K. Sapra, Head, Radiological Physics and Advisory Division, Bhabha Atomic Research Center, Mumbai participated online in the fourth session and gave a talk on the recent advances in radionuclides.

Ms. Amandeep Kaur from B.Tech Mechanical 4th Sem has made BFGI proud by winning 3rd position with a prize money of Rs.10000/- at the National Welding League for Women Students (Welding Skill Competition) organized by CV Raman College of Engineering Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
Baba Farid College of Engineering and Technology has organized Academic Excellence Awards on 13th June, 2018. Dr. Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal, Chairman of BFGI, inaugurated the program with his speech and also congratulated all the students for their outstanding achievements and remarkable personal growth. He also welcomed the Chief Guest Er. Arun Kumar, General Manager (Maintenance & Reliability)HMEL, Bathinda, with all the dignitaries, faculty members and students of BFCET. The program begun by lightening the lamp. All the students who achieved excellence in academic, sports and cultural events were awarded during the function. Er. Arun Kumar said that he is amazed to see all the developments and management skills of BFGI. He appreciated the vision and mission of Industry Academic Interface of BFGI. Heenhanced the knowledge of students by sharing strategies of money making. He also gave references of big companies like Amazon, Flipcart and Jio. He gave examples related to his life in order to motivate students. He also talked about how future planning and time management are important in one’s life. He also discussed evolution of Industries and digitization. At the end, vote of thanks presented by Er. Manish Goyal, Principal BFCET. He thanked chief guest as well as all the dignitaries, faculty members who devoted their valuable time for this function.
Nikhil from MBA 3rd semester stood at 3rd position among 150 interns during his Summer Internship at Hindustan Times Media Limited. Nikhil was honored with an iPhone 6 and 6 appreciation certificates for his extra-ordinary performance.
MBA & M.COM department (BFCMT) organized a great Knowledge sharing session “ Monday with an Entrepreneur” by Ms. Mandeep Kaur Sidhu on 22nd August, 2016 for MBA 1st & 2nd Year Students. Ms. Mandeep Kaur is serving SIMBACART as Managing Director. Simbacart is famous for selling footwear, whereas the brand has diversified into apparels, accessories, greeting cards and home furnishing too. She shared her journey in business as well as obstacles faced by her. She went ahead and gave certain motivational examples to students that how they can overcome challenges in life. After that Speaker discussed about slight edge book and suggested students to read it. The second part of the lecture proved to be the jest of the discussion as the speaker put life in the topic by explaining “Honesty is the demand of modern Era”. The fascinating lecture on various topics boost the confidence of new aspirants as the lectures ends with motivating question and answer sessions.
